Typical environments include water treatment, chemical processing, disinfection systems, industrial utilities, and other operations that use chlorine cylinders or bulk storage. Controls may involve secure storage, compatible piping and valves, leak detection where appropriate, ventilation, access restrictions, emergency isolation, protective equipment, and arrangements for specialist response. Equipment should be designed and installed by competent personnel familiar with the applicable codes, process conditions, and manufacturer instructions.
